Query Language : terrier treats symbols as terms?

Hi,

When I use the batch mode to provide new weights for my query, such as:

day^0.143786940 unspecified^0.142991886

Terrier seems to process the weights as if they were query terms, and it does the same thing with Field search (treats the fields as query term).

In the INFO log I get :

INFO - Processing query: 131: 'day 0 unspecified 0'

Any suggestion?

Regards,
Iman.

Are you using TREC formatted topic files, or one line per query?

This is only supported by the latter setting, and moreover, for Terrier versions != 3.5, set SingleLineTRECQuery.periods.allowed=true.

Many thanks Craig, I was using TREC format queries.
